Default Wheel Center Cap Options

I just picked up a set of new (to me) wheels and have run into a problem.
As you can see in the photo the wheel bearing cover is longer then the wheel hub. The wheels are 8.5" with a 50et. I don't see any problem with the fit, but the appearence is annoying me. Any BTDT or recommendations?

Options:
1. Custom machined domed centercaps.
2. IF the bearing allows it, shave the base of the bearing cap to recess it or have custom bearing caps made.

I'm surprised a 50ET 8.5" wide wheel clears the fender lip. What size are the tires?

I have the same problem, only on the front wheels I'm looking at some different center caps options

Take a measurement to see how much additional space is needed to fit the cap. For my Fikse caps to fit I needed just 4mm, so I removed the grease caps and scribed a line at 4mm with an awl. Then I used my bench grinder to remove material almost up to the line and finished with some coarse sand paper laid flat on the bench. Sanded in an orbital motion to get 'em even and then deburred the edges.

I'm not sure how much more could safely be removed, but it appears a couple of more mm would have been okay... measure first!

On my Fikse center caps there looked to be enough material to remove some there too. That would have been my next step if needed.

Thanks.
These are fronts with 245/40/17. The tires are slicks, but there seems to be plent of room. The rears are 275 and I need to roll the fender.
The custom bearing cap is an option I never considered. I'm going to dive in a little deeper and measure the bearing cap and see if I can trim it.
