I have a poster framed in my garage of the Holbert car with the land speed record details.

Nice-looking car
Found this interesting tidbid among the comments:
"Actually, it was Paul's Porsche, he drove it from New York to Southern California for the video shoot. How do I know? I was a stagehand and truss spot operator for the video shoot. The live shots took over 21 hours straight to shoot. They were shot in the Orange Pavilion on November 5, 1987. I actually still have the drum skin and sticks used in the video and signed by Eric. "
Apologies if this is old news to everyone here...
Cheers,
Erling

Also, is a 942, the 928 station wagon??????

I posted photographs I took of Ferry's personal 928 several months ago,--do a search for them herein. The 942 number is not well known. It was not a station wagon at all,--more like a stretched 928. Two doors,--but they were longer than stock. The headlights were the best feature,--fixed.

Please, please, please edit the title of this thread - it pains me so to see Porsche misspelled like so many mispronounce.
BTW, I have to admit that I was the one who added Jim_H to the Wikipedia entry, not Jim.
IIRC, it was soon after he flipped his GT and he was being quite obnoxious. And then he got himself banned-for-life from Rennlist.

My bet is that the Holbert 928 is the oldest (most race hours) fastest race car in the world with its original engine that has never been apart.
It may be time to submit something to the guiness world record book!
