I agree with Joel . Somewhat like dating a "bad girl" which might be fun but many would not plan to marry her... Cars are much the same even though the new owner might plan to do some modifications they often prefer to start with a nice stock original car which they can be the one to corrupt ! I suspect that many potential 928 buyers would think that with the cowl hood ,big wing, and loud exhaust that the car was PROBABLY driven like it was stolen.

I have no idea how he drives and suspect that he takes very good care of the mechanicals just mentioning that the hotrod look might convey the impression that the car was driven very HARD !

Put it on ebay for an attractive price chris. People here are many times not really the demographic you are looking for honestly. That seems weird to say, but its true.

I know... I was just having some fun.

But the points about a modified car are pretty dead on IMO. I think you'd be well served putting an S4 wing on the back and a stock hood and then sell you wing and hood separately - or as an add on to the car. That's how I sold my 82 with the Nitrous setup. Car was $7,600 without, $8,100 with - I sold it with.

Location, location, location...

I'm on the wrong side of the country!

I've met Chris and seen the car. This car REALLY needs to go to an enthusiast, with all the stuff that's done. Somebody has to know somebody who is looking for this car! Even if you had to call Risxter or Jim B or Dave R to get a red hood and a stock wing, this is a great deal!

My feeble mind harkens back to posts where folks lament the shortage of manual-trans cars. Here's one of perhaps the most desirable stick cars, the '89 GT, the one without airbags, it's offered at a great price, and there are no takers? Like alligators, I guess we are all mouth, no ears, and have brains the size of walnuts...

You might have been surprised. In theory you might be right, but in reality.... I am not so sure. If you dated a really "Bad Girl" you might not want to let her out of your sight.

"When she was bad, she was very, very good" tee hee.

Man Chris, if I didn't already have two I would be on that GT like white on rice. Best of luck to you and Christine.

Cheers,

Here's another pic of Chris's shark at SITM 05, I looked forward to seeing it again this year, sorry you couldnt make it Chris. Good luck with the sale too, sorry you have to go that route. I agree with the thought that you'd have a broader appeal to the masses with a more stock look.

Thanks again guys for the compliments and selling tips. I just may sell off the wing and hood separately. Either way though I think I'm offering it up at a reasonable price. I do have a local guy that is interested in it. We'll see if he comes through or not. He's actually been after me to sell it to him for about 3 years. I called him last night to let him know I was interested in selling it, and he seemed fairly excited. We'll see how it goes. I'm still trying to work things out to keep it.

Also forgot to mention that I have Zimmerman cast hole rotors at all 4 corners, and the stereo system has Rockford Fosgate amps.

Maintenance over the last 60K miles includes but is not limited to: new clutch/pressure plate/release fork/thowout bearing, timing belt/water pump/rebuilt tensioner/new rollers, new lower ball joints/upper A arms/steering rack/rack hoses, etc..... All the major stuff has already been done. Only minor stuff left.

Also, on the bad side of things, I have a sticking idle air valve. I'm trying to responsibly represent this car, good and bad.
