Rear defogger wont turn off?
Little help please. On the way back from SITM I realized my volt meter was dropping to 10. So, I think my alternator is done?
So then to add to that, I just went out to my car to leave work, turn the key, nothing but clicking. I checked the fuses and relays and they are all functioning. Finally get it jump started and the rear defogger light comes on. Drive home and its still stuck on?
I have a felling this is a situation but, am I missing something here? Why doesnt it turn off, even when the car is parked, off and doors locked?
Thanks in advance folks.

Mr. Beerfish,
Same thing happened to me Wednesday night coming back from Ashburn (Rte 7). I hit the defroster just to clear the back glass after one our frequent thunder storms and it was still on when I got to Dulles Corner (Rte 28 and West Ox Rd.). I looked at my voltmeter and it was down to the bottom red mark. Fortunately I caught the light and shut down/restarted which reset the defroster. Maybe it's a Northern Virginia thing!

My relay did the same thing. The only way I could get the relay to turn off was to disconnect the battery for a few seconds. I'm thinking pulling the relay and replacing it might work also. Probably time for a new relay.
