Can you use a gear puller to get the oil pump gear off? It looks pretty flimsy. To get at the seal in behind it? Mine, just like the crank gear, is frozen on. I had to shatter the plastic rear cover just to get the puller fingers to gab. I did soak both in liquid wrench for two days, but this is a 1978 and is mostly untouched since.
Also, when rebuildig the tensioner, do you fill the unit with gear oil? Thx.
