Default Short shifter

I,m new to the 928 (88 S4 5-spd) and this forum and would like to know if this upgrade is worth it. I searched the archive files and was confused if the was a upgrade or not.

Definately worth it. It will feel different at first, but after you get used to it, you'll wonder why they didn't do it like this from the facotry. One tip: When you go to put the shift **** back on, it will feel like it's on but it won't be. I covered it with a soft towel and bacnged it a couple of times with a 2# dead blow hammer. Then it was on there.

That is also a good test for a worn front shifter ball socket ! "bacnged it a couple of times with a 2# dead blow hammer."... because if worn the socket will be levered up off the ball and all shifting is over ! But better to discover that in your driveway rather than 200 miles from home on a dark rainy night.
