Why was it such a poor race car at Le Mans? NO factory support? I think I read it was the slowest car and finished dead last, kind of dissappointing. I am sure the two "Marks" would give a much better performance.............

For such a small team, to finish the race was a victory in itself.
A 24h race is very different from a 2 or 3 h one.
In 1984, before the head gasket problem, the car was in position to make a good result.

I will be in Le Mans around the 14th of July. It would be great if we can meet for a coffee. We could not last year, but I am still very keen to see a 928CS in the flesh, given that my GT is very close to your specs already.

AS I mentioned in a previous thread, I have that 928 on tape filmed from the back racing during the 1984 ESPN lemans coverage. I couldn't believe my eyes and it is nice to know the story behind the sighting.

Hi Samuel,
I completely agree, look at the long list of cars that did not finish.
Hi Alex
I now have a GT 5spd box in my 81s; such a difference, different car versus the old 5 sp box.
If I could just find what was causing about 0.5 amp current drain when it is parked then I would be driving it again. If I take out the fuse (26 I think) that drives the interior lights & economy gauge & radio it stops the current drain completely so I am getting closer to the cause.

You know my views on the 16v - love them to bits, especially when mated to a proper box - 5spd
