My wheels (flat standard type 7 spoke) had the original (flimsy) wheel locks. I was finding that the locks had begun to separate within the plastic sleeve making it fiddly to manipulate them into correct position so they'd come off with the key.
I removed them all. My wheels really wouldn't be very attractive to a potential thief and I no longer have to worry about keeping that key. If I treat the car in future to new wheels (I think the Cup alloys look nice on 928s) then I'll invest in better wheel locks anyway.
Now all you Rennlisters know my wheels are unprotected so you are suspects when they go missing!
