Default A few Cabrio resto pics....

Here are a few update pictures of the cab going back together. Paint is done and the dash is in. I like the single-color scheme more than I thought I would.

Draggin' my feet on putting the climate control back together....I pulled out some vac hoses and now I seem to have some unused, open ports.....

Dave;

Nice work on the Cab. Can't wait to see her agian in person.

I thought I would miss the GT, but every time I see the Cab I miss it the most. Glad they can keep each other company.

White on white...definitely a CHICK car now! LOL.. Looks great! Did you paint the dash and pod? I would like to know more about the back deck lid. It looks as though it may be one large piece rather than just a trunk hatch. Do you have closer pics? and in the opened position? I like the "shaved" lock look.

Thanks!

Scott...whats the deal? Did you own like every cab in the US? How do you find them?...geeeez!

Thanks all;

Scott: how often do you see two of your cars in someone elses garage Once again, big thanks for being the PO of these two cars. No problem buying a car from pictures and a description when you get it from Scott.

928ntslow: yes car is really a chick car, it's actually titled to my wife The goal was good sunny weather colors and keeping the interior cool. Yes the entire rear deck is hinged from the back and the top is stored underneath. I'll get some pics of it open.

Pfunde: All of the interior is vinyl because I had to consider the possibility of it getting wet occasionally. The dash and console were both perfect vinyl pcs that were discovered under torn, dried out leather units. The doorpanels are composites that I glassed together from a couple of warped sets. I wanted to keep the oldstyle perforated speaker grilles. All of the parts were prepped and painted/dyed with SEM product. First as a "stain" that I washed on and sort of melted in, then completed with a couple of finish coats. I did some testing and adhesion seems to be very good. Time will tell !

morganabowen: wheels? car has a set of d-90's right now. I like them and they seem to suit the car so they will probably stay. 2nd choice would probably be phone dials because they are period correct and sort of 928 character thing.

Pretty close???? your's are perfectly straight.....I'm going to forget I saw that pic and not take my panels apart, chasing the perfect perf pattern. Actually I think the problem is accentuated by the light color vinyl and dark holes.....on black it is not as obvious.

So you put the early panels in a late car? very nice looking!
