928 Owners Club International Convention 2006 - Denver, June 22 - 25
Hi 928'ers,
I just wanted to update everyone on the 928 Owners Club International Convention here in Denver next week. And I will use this thread over the next ten days to keep everyone abreast of all that will be happening and pertainent information that will need to be disseminated.
Okay, to start... if anyone has registered at the Renaissance Hotel in Denver that DID NOT let them know you are with the 928 Owners Club International Convention, please call them and let them know, (1-303-399-7500) it will give you the $79.00 rate and me the room count, so please do this as soon as possible. Secondly, we have a choice of three entree's for the banquet on Saturday Evening; they are: Steak, Chicken and Salmon. If you would please e-mail by June 21st (next Wednesday)with your name and choice, i.e. Sam White, Chicken. If you have more than yourself coming, please do the same for all in your party. My e-mail for the event is: ebehrendsen@comcast.net Third, if anyone is coming to the convention that has not registered as of yet, please do so, now. We have a very nice name badge that we are having made, which would have a picture of your car on it. Mike needs to have final images ASAP to get them done in time for the convention next week! We also need counts for meals, attendance at events during the convention among other things so, if you are considering coming, please let us know. Otherwise, things are all set for next week, we currently have 53 registered and paid attending the convention, but we could certainly accommodate more 928'ers. Again, here is the site to register and information on the hotel. https://secured.excell.net/ocic_2006...ation_form.htm
I look forward to seeing everyone here in Denver next week!

Just in case anybody has not seen the dates for the 928 Owners Club Convention, it starts June 22nd and runs thru June 25th. We still have could use a few more 928's out here in Colorado next week. So if you can't make Sharks at the Lake, why not come out to Beautiful Colorado for a few days and spend it with us. The post at the top of this thread has the link to the registration page, so just click away and register. We may have some rooms still left at the Renaissance Hotel, but the $79.00 rate ended on June 1st. As of this morning the rate was $130.00, Richard is trying to get them to bring it down to $89.00, so I will post that information when it is available.

Erik and Richard have done an outstanding job planning and putting this together. If you're on the fence about it this event will be a first class affair and one that you'll not want to miss. I went to both the 2000 and 2004 OCIC in Wichita and they were a blast - even in Kansas! The venue in Denver and the mountains will be fantastic. And remember 'it's a dry heat!'

I just contacted the Renaissance Hotel in Denver about changing my arrival to Thursday night (I already booked Friday - Sat) and they said they're all booked and can't even take wait list. Soooooo .. if you haven't booked a room yet, alternates hotels will be needed.
Erik, Richard - do you have suggestions?

Talked with the Renaissance Denver Hotel this morning (Tracy) and they are indeed sold out on Thursday evening. However, I have secured some rooms for both Friday and Saturday evening for those who still need one. The rate is still $79.00 and you will need to contact Tracy; her direct line is, 1-303-336-5213. As for a room on Thursday, Tracy has suggested, the Red lion Inn, Radisson Hotel, or the DoubleTree Hotel, these are all located on Quebec Street which is the same as our host hotel and are just 1 or 2 blocks away. So contact them if you need lodging for Thursday evening.
UPDATE JUNE 14, 2006
Well, things are running smoothly at this end, we have 63 people registered now and anticipate many more now that we are just over a week away from the convention. We also may have the opportunity to drive professional go-carts, these things are fast (135MPH) at the new, Track at Centennial, which just opened up in April. I am working on a group rate for everyone who is interested and will post it as soon as I find out the details. This would be held after 3:00pm on Saturday, just after the close of the car show. Here's a link to there website: www.thetrack.us/

Just to reiterate, I have two rooms reserved for the Thursday night at the OCIC $79 rate.
I will just transfer the reservation to your name.
I booked two rooms for all three nights a few months ago.
I only need one room for two nights.
PM me before I just cancel them.
Seems a shame as people appear to want rooms for Thursday night at the low rate.
