Looks good Brian!
I saw DRs idler set up first hand and as he told me, it should work on our set up by simpley putting the idlers on the back and making the spacers a little bit longer. To see it in pics doesnt do it justice..i think its 4 bolts to mount it and the belt wrap is

IMHO i wouldnt worry too much about drawing vacuum with the various filter locations. We can spilt a lot of hairs with it all but i think the amount of vac you would see at normal highway speeds let alone from a stand still is very negligable...getting it cooler would be more beneficial overall.
Blownbeasts I/C is really a trip, it works well for everyday street uses and "drag racing" but i think he found that on the track the system was pretty well maxed out.

Seeing the results and work that DR has done im pretty sure there are many gains to be had just on our plenum at the back. And from going from my H pipe to an Xpipe there are gains to be seen in the exhasut as well.
As Woody says..progress is what its about!

Brian:

Thanks for the pics. BTW, where did you get that intake hose to replace the drier vent hose? I need some!

OK, I'm headed to NAPA tomorrow for some other goodies anyway. Then I'm going to study the part of the fender where Brian has his intake routed. Thanks Tony!

I got all the stuff from mcmaster.com I would post the page, but I have tried pasting links to mcmaster in the past, but it didn't work.

It's part #:

5285K45
General Purpose Blended Rubber Coolant Hose 3-1/2" Id, 3-7/8" Od, 24 PSI, Black, 3' Length
In stock

Quantity Per Ft.
1-24 Ft. $14.78
25 or more 12.32

Here's the pipe that connects to the elbow and runs thru the fender:

4561T812
(Same as 4561T8)
Thin-Wall Aluminum Unthreaded Pipe 3" Pipe Sz, 3.5" Od, Schedule 10, 3' Length
In stock at $52.63

And here's the elbow:

4672T18
Thin-Wall Alum Unthrd Butt-Weld Pipe Fitting 3" Pipe Size, 90 Degree Long Radius Elbow, Sch 10

It really helped clean up the appearance, although it's not as pretty as Daryl's, who ran more aluminum that looks like it's been powdercoated.

Brian, Where did they re-locate the jumper wire post??

I'm very interested in that mod! I know it has to be cooler than the air radiating off the radiator hose and engine bay temp

I'm pretty sure they dismounted the terminal and put some heatshrink over it. For all practical purposes, it went bye bye.

I think it is a much cleaner look with the filter in the fender, I just have to find an easy way to access it for cleaning. I guess as little as I clean it, I can just pull the wheel cover out. Time to start cutting.
Later, Woody

Brian-
Congrats on the power! I was so psyched to get mine dynod this weekend, but it'll have to wait a few more weeks (I'm sure you saw the $40 dyno thread). Then the real fun begins - tuning for that extra 30-40HP left on the table.

I think you will be suprised at how well it can stay clean up there in the wheel well. Its a pretty isolated spot and if you place some sort of baffle below the filter it will help prevent some of the dirt that makes it up from the front spoiler area. Much less work there than where i put mine!

The filters are only around $30 new. With all the paranoia about over oiling and toasting the MAF, I treat these as disposable; it will just be part of the annual maintenance.

Oh drat, I should've had you NOT order the elbow. I ordered two and only need one. If anybody else needs an elbow, I'll sell it at the McMaster price, and I'll eat the shipping and no tax.
