Default performance exhaust opinions wanted

I am upgrading my exhaust from the manifolds back on my 93 gts and would like to know opinions on the 2 available crossovers. motorsports(not stainless) or 928 specialists(stainless.) I would imagine the performance is similar and i want stainless but i dont really want to part with 650$ for a crossover with cats. I also was wondering the best/least expensive place to get borla.
Thanks,
James

We will have stainless "X-overs" available within 30 days...and the performance is not similar. I have also ordered 500 catalytic converters built to my specification that will cause minimal or no horsepower loss. Some of the 3" have arrived, the 2.5" should be here within a week or so.

I tend to agree Sterling but how many people really want to pay for a quality mandrel bent stainless exhaust? You should know now what the cost of a really nice setup is. We can provide one, in fact it's in the works but it will be a limited run of 2.5" stainless as most folks prefer aluminized or HPC coated. Once it's completed we will have the pricing available.

I have DR's Mountain Man Stainless Xpipe without the cats & I love it. I'm no expert but the quality to me seems top rate. And I love both the performance gains and the sweet sound it makes!

What kind of welder do you have sterling? DId you finish the welding yourself, or did you have someone else do it?

How much, ballpark-ish, are we talking about for a mandrel stainless system?

i am one of those guys that likes things stock but prefers much better than stock occasionally. this is one of those times. Sterling, i saw your posts on the dual borla mufflers wrapped around the tranny on either side that you made. Hook a brother up. I will not buy aluminized or coated pipes because i have been there and they do not last long enough for the price. I want stainless and borla. sterling where is the best place to get the borla muffs back to the tips?
Thanks for the replies.

I sold the 2.5 version that included a stainless ott X to a 928 owner off rennlist.... for less than it cost to make because you are right... there are few that are willing to pay what it costs to have one made.....
Yes the cost can be huge, it is brought done greatly by mass production, my materials alone were $3750 USD, that did include the header materials also. In the end the sound is exceptional, so much so that the neighbour poked his head over after hearing me go round the block and he said "What have you done to that thing?" It was more what had I done to my wallet!

Cheers Greg
