I would say that the 928 MAF is a pretty good device. They typically age gracefully over a 80k mile life. They are very well built.
More modern MAFs are usually Platinum film. The big idea was that by clever deisgn the film did not get contaminated, and so did not require the burn of cycle that the hot wire MAF does.
In fact these MAFs appear to have a service life of 40k miles or even less.....as used on Boxsters, 996 etc...

John, very interesting. Just another example of how well our cars were thought out and made (although I realize other cars used our MAFs).
Dave, sending you an e-mail.

I have a theory on this dual setup. At first the plan was to run two seperate systems (much like the BMW 750), but later on it was determined that its easier and better to just run everything as a single system first while keeping the dual option open for future development. If this is true, it's a very good plan.

DR,
That torque line is awsome. I have seen many dyno runs from Murph's SC, the early Keel TS and turbos and haven't seen this flat of a line. Is there some kind of patented secret? I think you said you were running stock exhaust, would running a 2 1/2" exhaust turn the torque 'line' into more of a curve?
Just a very impressive system you built, congrats.

Then suddenly Dave juiced up the throttle... "wwwhoooowweeeeeeeerrrrrweeeeeeeerrrrrr" We looked at each other and our eyes were wider than Ive ever felt!

John... sorry to have not included you too in my list of thanks. Of course, without you (and pretty much everyone else who piched in) the install would not have moved along as fast as it did. I'd say at least 30 or so people contributed to the install. I think I've publicly thanked 10, so there are at least 20+ more out there that I owe a debt of gratitude.
How's this: as a way of saying thanks, next year all drinks will be on DR. I know that's a lot of beer, but I'm big like that. Generous to a fault. I'm willing to let DR take this upon his shoulders. And when you taste those hops and barley, remember one thing.... thank you from the bottom of my... I mean DR's... heart.![Stick Out Tongue](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
P.s. On second thought... you might want to bring a few of your own just in case DR doesn't have time to make a beer run.

Hi Andrew,
No problem, that happy smile on your face told it all :-) It is interesting how different one car can be to another, requiring a Tune up for optimum running.
I am very envious of all the people who are going to get one of Dave's kits.
I'm just waiting for that Euro S2 version.....:-)
It would be great to come and claim some free beer one year....
