Carrera III wheels on GT
Had these put on last week. Pretty good fit, the front sticks out just a bit, causing the body of the car just behind the wheel to get a bit dirty and introduces a risk of rock chips. Worth the tradeoff.
Wheel caps fit without having to mod the stock wheel bearing dust cap.

jakermc,
VERY Nice!!! Love the look of the 997 5-spoke wheels on a 928. IMO, the straight 5-spokes just look right with the design of the car, AND, it's a factory Porsche wheel

I've got to say they look great, what a big improvement over stock, what I found was (when these wheels are fitted) that then you need to have brakes looking good too. A set of aero mirrors might now be in the offing for you?
Good luck

Thanks for the compliments everyone.
The wheels are 8x10x18 and were fit without using spacers. Tires are 225/40 and 265/35. I could have gone with more rubber in the rear but did not want to change the balance quite so much. I think you are limited to 225 up front with these wheels given that the offset is a little less than stock. (I think the offsets on these wheels are 57/58 from memory). I run the same size tires on my track 911, so in a pinch I could pull them off and use them as rain tires at the track.

Can someone explain how 265's can fit on a GT with no fender flares, but I'm having issues with putting 295's on my GTS with 1.5" fender flares?
I say I'm having issues, but I'm still working on it. It may work, but boy, it's really a tight fit under there.

Do you still have the thick spacers on your GTS?
What is the ET on the rim?

i'm putting a 19x11 67et 295/30 on my S4. looks like a 1" spacer is what i need (25mm), 19mm was not enough to move it away from the innards. will have to roll the fender for sure, maybe even flare it a bit. just waiting for the spacers to come.

These wheels must be very light, I saw broken one yesterday on a new Carrera, if you can picture alfoil then half it, are you getting the picture? No just kidding but they are very thin. I would be interested to find out what they weigh, my supposed lightweight 5 spokes weighed 8 and 10 kgs respectively.
