Tim,
Expecting that owning a 928 has something to do with being rational is..... a bit irrational
I refer to my 928s (and M3) as money pits.
The key is that you have fun. I hope you are having as much fun as I am

DR is working on a kit for his 85 Euro S. After that I think he has L-jet and CIS cars planned.
Here's a little demonstration of Barney's power during the fun run. Sorry, this video is 5MB for only 5 seconds. Yes, the S4 in front of us was trying to accelerate away...

Barney got so excited with his new parts that he wet himself
(Actually, Tom overfilled the intercooler tank in the hotel parking lot.)

do you plan to put him on the dyno? i'd love to see the results from that. the install job looks fantastic. DR always took great care of me too.
here's a quick story you may not know about Barney. while on my way to the airport for a flight lesson, the clutch pedal went to the floor and didn't come back directly under the narrrows bridge. i thought the clutch M/C had failed. i had it towed home and replaced it, but that wasn't the problem. i figured it must be the slave cylinder so i replaced it. that wasn't the problem either. turns out it was the hose that connects two, but since it had a plastic shroud on it, i couldn'e see the huge gash in it. i tried to order on, but all the local dealers were out and so were the big three. backordered everywhere with no projected delivery date. so i took it to Williams Oil Filter and Machine Shop in Tacoma because my pop told me they carry lots of hydraulic hoses and such. they didn't have anything that matched so they cut the fittings off of the stock hose and used a piece of super heavy duty aircraft hydraulic line, cut the fittings off of it, brazed the Porsche fittings on it and Voila! a new, virtually indestructible hose. cost was only $30. install was a snap. bleeding it on the other hand..... so thats where that blue braided hose under the car came from, instead of the factory black rubber one. worthless trivia for ya.
let us know when you get him on the dyno! take care....

bobby,
probably won't be getting him back for what i bought him for, but one never knows....
anytime you're in virginia you are more than welcome to take him out for a run.
dyno will come, but it may be a bit. very busy outside the porsche world right now. dr's seat of the pants dyno felt that it was a bit stronger than his so that would be nice

Tom,
maybe someday if i ever get a chance to take a vacation out that way, i'll be sure to look you up and buy you a beer. in the mean time, enjoy that machine!
H,
Adam was nice enough to give me a link to this thread. i havne't checked out Rennlist in years. looks great too! last time i looked, there was still someone that i'd rather not speak to on here so i avoided the place. had to check out Barney though. wish i could have kept him, but........ talk to you later.
