Default Oxygen sensor wires

Just spent 6 hrs removing the exhaust system to begin the dreaded torque tube job. Had to dremel every darn manifold nut off.

The whole exhaust is now hanging in one piece (supported by some jack stands) and I would like to disconnect , rather than cut the 02 sensor wires. Where can I find the connections inside the car?

Under the fuse panel. Mine were pressed under and I had to carefully pull it out so I didn't mess up any fuses. There is a rubber plug in the floor where it comes through on the hump.

If you have a three wire O2 sensor there will be a single connector and another double wire connector. Look for a fairly large diameter green wire. This is for the O2 output voltage. It is a shielded wire. Once you find that one you can trace it to find the other two wires. Disconnect them all and carefully pull them through the hole in the floorboard.

You can use a 7/8 (IIRC) open end wrench to remove it from the exhaust

I just did mine although my bolts came right out. I used new ones when I put them back in though!! I can't help with much in the way of tech stuff so when something pops up I know I chime in. All of the wires (3) on my sensor ran through the rubber grommet to a plug. Was as simple as unplugging it and feeding it down and out of the car. O2 sensor even broke loose with no drama.

Hi to find the wires for the O2 sensor look at the bottom of the fuse panel then go to the bottom left, at the edge of the bottom you will see the center console carpet/insulation where it meets at the floor, peel this back and about 2 inches up from the floor there will be a rubber plug with wires going thru it ,this is the O2 sensor wire, you will have an easier time of working on the wire on reinstallation if you remove the right side forward heat shield it has 2 8 mm bolts

Thanks guys. Located the wires and removed the exhaust today.

Spent today removing the half shafts , rear brakes and other small pieces. Those bolts sure were tight. I'm going to lower the suspension and remove the transmission so that I may replace the torque converter brg and rebuild the rear hubs. Also plan on disassembling the rear suspension to sandblast and paint all parts to make everthing look pretty.
