Another Victory
Another big thanks to Rennlist. Pulled the cruise control brain and re-flowed all the connections on the bottom of the board. (as has been suggested in many posts) To be honest, none of the joints looked bad to begin with and after I was done they actually looked worse. I had to remove some solder bridges I had created and frankly I was concerned that I had done more harm than good.
Test drive today and the cruise works like it used to. Sets right at the current speed, and stays there. I never would have thought to do this if not for this site.
Thanks again.

Blue,
This is as good as I've seen. It didn't work for me but, law of averages, it probably will for you:

Good luck,

The thread listed above is the one I used. Also, though I hate to admit it, I did not clear off the varnish first. Did not realize that there was a coating until I was 1/2 thru it, so by then I said screw it.
Nice, AJ. Just saved yourself enough dough for a couple tanks of gas!
BTW, yes, Berryman's worked on the varnish, but be careful about getting it on the component side of the board -- don't want to dissolve any plastic components! I'm adding a note to my web page about this -- it will get uploaded with the next update.
