As stated earlier in post #2:
The cottage is truly the cottage from Hell (very small and and needs work) but we have two bunk beds and a queen size bed to offer up to out of towners, the couch and floor works too just in case.
We have room for 5/6 people if you want to spend the night at the cottage. Send me a PM if you are interested.

It depends on when you are going. You need to be out of the city by 7am, or else it's just as bad. Probably not reasonable for HP. During the day, traffic can by minimal. Or horrendous. Hard to judge. If there's a Cubs game, traffic is significanly worse if you're coming through around that time. But then I was returning up 90 from a bike race at 6 pm on sunday and barely had to slow down, even with the construction.
Still probably best to take 294 around the city though. Although there's construction on the tolls on 294, if you have an Ipass they don't cause any problems, but the cash paying suckers get to wait extra long. Unless you do the dick move and pass everybody on the left then duck in.
Hmm. Maybe best to take the ferry, not like any part of the drive is terribly exciting anyway. Unless you want to do the circle drive, avoid all the highways, and make a big loop. That won't take too long.

To me Milwaulee - Chicago isn't even an option. It's less than a 60 mile difference between going up and over vs. down and around. We will be leaving GB around 12:00 noon - putting us in the north side of Chicago around 3:00PM, not good timing.
Still debating the Ferry. Total travel time is close either way.

I'd say take the Northern route TO and maybe take the southern route BACK. Chicago traffic can be horrible. You won't have much traffic going through the U.P. Ferry would be a cool option if its not already booked.

Just wanted to give all of you an update on the Frenzy we have planned. I've got quite a few people confirmed for coming on the 29th.
Ok this is HUGE! I just received confimation that 928 International is sending us a box of goodies to give away. I'm sure 928 Specialists will have their box of goodies on the way soon too. But you can't win unless you are there! Also, there will be t-shirts for the first 30 drivers.
So for planning purposes, the event will be held at:
4339 Patterson Lake Road, Pinckney, MI 48169
Plan on comming around 10am (rain or shine). Lunch will be provided by the local 928 Owner's Club, but if you'd like to bring a dish or drinks to pass, it will be welcome. Alcohol willl not be provided - it is BYOB, but make sure you know your limits as we are planning a fun drive (about 75 miles).
Bring your cameras and your good spirit. This will be a very fun event! Cant wait to see you there. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or email me. Cell: 734-837-seven nine zero eight Email: andrewmolson"AT"yahoo.com
See you there!
Edit: If you have a Family Service Radio (Walkie Talkie), bring it. We typically use Channel 9-28. It will be handy for the fun drive.

That's great news! It'll be great seeing Bill, Jack, and urnothtesame. I've got at least 6 or 7 cars confirmed outside the usual suspects. That puts us at about 20-25 cars. It's gonna be a great time!
