Hmm...I doubt my shark will make it, but I'll see about having the chain tensioner it chewed up make an appearance. Another donation for the 928 Shrine.

FYI... Here's the T-shirt design. Working on the hotel as I type.

How about a nice polo shirt

Just spoke with Murphy - his departure will depend on the wife.

Hotel Manager won't be in until Monday, but the hotel we're targeting is the Best Western of Whitmore Lake, MI. It has a BAR!

Still playing with the routes:

A. 7 hours (no traffic) going down and through Chicago

B. 8 hours - up and over

C. 30 minutes to Manitowoc
4 hours on the ferry
3 hours to you guys

D. 2 hours to Milwaukee
3 hours on the ferry
2 hours to you guys

On a Friday? Half the population of Chicago will be heading into Michigan. Unless you're leaving first thing in the morning, probably not a good idea.

If it were my choice I'd take the ferry from Milwaukee to Muskegon. Then it's almost a straight shot down I-96.

Although... driving a 928 through the UP would be nice, too. The only downside is the last 2 hours from Bay City/Midland/Saginaw on I-75. Not much to look at, but at least you'd be driving against traffic. On a Friday in July half the population of Detroit will be heading up north...

You must not travel much. Most non-downtown hotels these days don't have bars. Now, I know in Wisconsin, a cooler full of beer passes as a bar, but here in Michigan, we sometimes like the occasional gin and tonic or margarita. Heck, we sometimes will even drink Jager. Sometimes when I'm in a really surly mood, I'll test the bar tender by ordering a Hacker-Pschorr.

You have much to learn my son - everything you just mentioned will be in Tim's cooler - I'm bringing the beer.

Just got off the phone with Diane at the Best Western in Whitmore Lake, MI. She said she could give us a $10/night discount off their current published rates of $99/night. So that's $89/night. Not great but better than a sharp stick in the eye.

Hotel info:
Best Western of Whitmore Lake, MI
9897 Main Street,
Whitmore Lake, MI, 48189-9438
Phone: 734-449-2058
Ask for the Porsche 928 Rate

See you all soon!

I checked Expedia.com - that hotel 89.99 per night is the senior rate

Dude, how old are you?

I was kidding! Just thought it was funny she quoted you the AARP rate.

I was on Expedia anyway trying to plan a fall trip - decided to plug in SIH location to see what was all out there. That Best Western is about it.

I'm sensitive about my age... what can I say.
