Double Oak is just a nice twisty drive down Copper Canyon road for me. Looking forward to it. I'm located at Ryan rd Country Club rd.
As far as transport goes, I had DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers) do it, they were fantastic and had it here in no time.

Sean,
Welcome. Did you know that '88 is the very best model year for the 928?
Joking aside, it looks very nice, and your local owners' club is enviably active, so you'll be quickly introduced to the charms of 928 ownership.
Say, how about some more interior pics?

Sounds like you're right near our Dog's "summer camp", Windsong Kennel on 1830 just south of Country Club. Another 928 owner, Brad, lives near you. We're getting a fairly high concentration of Sharks in Denton county. Since I turned my G35 in yesterday, the Shark is now the daily driver. Charlie gets "lessons" in how to get in her tomorrow...he'll add 109lbs to her GVW.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone, I've watched all of you posting and knew that I was getting in to the right crowd, I just figured I'd wait until I got the baby here before I posted anything. I'm really looking foward to seeing everyone elses sharks and seeing all the things that I'm going to need to do and getting the advice on what needs to be done.
Again, thanks.
I'll have some more interior pics as soon as the better 1/2 pulls out her camera, we've took the kid to the Dallas Aquarium and to see RV at the movies. Going to spend some time tinkering the rest of the night.

The more I look this car over and take little stuff apart to see what's underneath, the more I am impressed.
On the underbody, it looks like 90% of the original undercoating is intact. The exhaust looks stock but doesn't sound that way, I can't find any obvious signs of mods there.
I fixed the rear wiper only going 1/2 way across, some idiot thought if he just put the wiper on and not look at where the mechanical arm was.. Problem was, it was hitting the stop after 1/4 of a rotation. That in turn sheard off part of the stud that inserts in the motor bracket. Simple solution of drilling a hole through the sheard assembly and screwing in a bolt. Fixed.
I'd love someone close to take mine for a ride and give me an opinion on the car. I test drove a couple that I was not impressed with and this one is so much better in many aspects. I'll buy any volunteers a beer for the trouble.
Thanks in advance.

The blower motor is a pretty easy fix once you get the head out of the car. If you try taking the head off, be vary careful of the H shaped bezel around it, the fingers break off very easily. I think we'll all be in Double Oak pretty soon with all the new toys in town. If you can wait, I'll fix it for you when we GTG. Also since I think you said it runs with the key off(?) it may be relay related as well.
I'll be in Justin Sunday working on my plane. If you are driving around that area give me a call, 817-966-0490.
Congrats, Cya soon.

Sean,
Welcome to the DFW group. Hope to see you at our next GTG! It's last minute notice, but several of us are caravaning to Sharks in the Mountains, first week in June then in the end of June to Denver for the 928 OCIC gathering. Your welcome to join us for one of both.

I may shoot for the Denver deal, what is the plan for a hotel, any rooms left you think?
Doc: I'm going to PM you, saw the blurb about your plane. I flew mine this morning up near Era & Valley View. A single seat Challenger I built a while back.

I'd like to know the specifics of the DFW group's plans too. Linda and I will join in.

Interesting that your interior has everything in blue, except the seats. Most often I have seen combinations where seats and carpet are the same color. The way your car is done, the light grey seats really stand out! And that blue carpet is probably a bit easier to keep clean...
Your horn pad is not the correct one for the 88 model year. It should say "PORSCHE" instead of "928" and have a horn symbol at the bottom. The one you have is frim an older car. But actually, it's kind of cool that it is more specific to the model you drive than the correct pad...
Enjoy the beast!!!
