I have no room to build a larger garage. I am looking for a piece of land within an hour's drive of the Cities and I'm going to put up a 30 X 40 pole barn for starters, and everything but the car tools and the car will go out there. I literally CAN'T WAIT to make this happen.
Until that happens though, these garage threads will only serve to depress me...

I had acquired a large house that had a 2.5 car garage with a second unfinished house being 40' x 70' with plans to turn the second one into a lakehouse rental property since it is waterfront.
Up to this point, house #2 ended up being my garage and workshop for now. Its heated and has its own generator. The garage area is 40' deep by 35' wide and unfinished area an additional 40'x 35'. Its a shame I use it for the cars because it has a million dollar view of the lake and mountains, so maybe I will build another garage behind it and convert that area into a house.
My Near future plans are to build a small part of the unfinished area into an office, get a lift for working on the cars, better lighting, and use the rest as workshop.
I may eventually turn part of it into a seasonal condo duplex for the lake summer season or housing for family members.

Heinrich said it was like the Mouse Hilton down there the last time he stopped by.
Take a 5 gal plastic pail and poke a couple of holes through the sides oposite of eachother, just below the rim. Take an empty beer can and pull the tab off of it, and poke a hole in the bottom of it. Run a wire through the can and fix it to the top of the pail through the holes you poked near the rim. Tha can now acts as a rolling drum on the taught wire. Spread peanut butter on the can. Pour about 3 inches of antifreeze in the pail. Set pail on floor of shop, against a wall, with a board from the floor to the rim of the bucket, such that the mice have to jump from the edge of the board to get to the peanut butter on the can. This works really well. I use them in my barns and pool cabana. The beauty of this setup is the anti freeze pickles the mice so there is no smell, and you never have to empty the trap for the whole season.
Try it man.....it really works.

Gretch, Shane, Warren..you guys have gorgeous set ups..kudos!!!
Mark, is your buddy's garage floor marble? Or is it just stained to look that way? I love the floor and was wondering for future purposes if this effect can be had from staining and sealing. Thanks bud! BTW, nice T/A on the rack (or Formula 400)
