The Vipers under boost get 1000hp. With six speeds, and weighing 3300 pounds, no 928 that we could keep on the road would get ahead. Its a fact of life.

I hear you on the steering Brian. I really do think the steering is what makes the 928 feel heavy. High effort, a little vague, and pretty wiggly when things aren new.

The solid rack mounts, new tie rods, new ball joints, and a good custom alignment I think really do the 928 justice, as well as some good synthetic fluid in the system. And a smaller, aftermarket steering wheel.

At that point, we simply have 20 years separating the steering technology, and we can little about that.

I didn't even think of syn fluid for the power steering, duh. I would like to remake the lines w/o the restrictor, and include a cooler.

With a smaller Momo steering wheel, the steering feel is better, albeit more difficult. With 8" rims with 245's on the front, the steering has become much more twitchy. I must pay attention at all times, as the car will go precisely where I point it, right away. (Sans bumpers improved the steering dramatically, too.)

I reckon some alignment specs need to be changed to support large front tires?

If you can't take him let one of the supercharged guys know and we'll cover for you.

How is the S4 TT project coming??? Haven't heard from you in a while? Didn't your 4.5TT run a high 13 1/4? This particular viper ran 12.8 @ 114mph with a bad launch.....low 12's for sure with a good launch or drag radials...

I look forward to hearing more about your TT setup.....

I just love the low end torque of the Viper....it will pin you back in the seat at any RPM's....its addictive!

Stuck in NYC traffic leaving town, I was behind a red Viper open top.
It was summer and the guy in the Viper had a clip-on fan plugged into the cig. lighter.
Fan was clipped to the driver's side visor blowing onto the driver.
I was in the 928 with AC on listening to the 9 speaker stereo.

The Viper is wicked raw fast. Probably great for the odd sunday drive and track events.
I can barely clear the 928 sill when I get in and out of the car.
Wonder how many hot ankle moments the Viper owners get.

It is coming...slowly but surely. I'm doing a lot of international travel for work...to the UK. We do Saturday night stays for the lower priced airline tickets. I have the turbos, ICs will be here May 8...then major fab work starts...want to have the motor out in the next 1.5-2 weeks. In the middle of a 4.7 liter Euro TT build as well...for my Brother's Callaway car. Too little time...my paying job is very, very busy at the moment and there is lots to do around the house.
