Thanks Keith, ...I sanded and polished the passenger side lens in preparation for the window tint which I just couldn't get to work....so I left the other one alone...
That said..I think the paint went on nicer on the one I sanded...for some reason it didn't get perfect coverage inside all those little letters and numbers...not bad..but not perfect.
Of course, my lenses weren't perfect to begin with..as there must have been some seriously high wattage bulbs in the reverse socket..due to the warped area in the white part of the lense..

I checked them out at night and it's not bad at all. A little dimmer if you know what the stock lights look like..
I think the only thing lost by this tinting was daytime reflectivness. Otherwise no probs at all...

Watch out for a cop who knows his code.
As far as I know what you did looks good but is, blatantly, illegal in all 50 states.
For my part, I'm leaning toward LED's on the rear. Less power consumption at the stop
signs and stop lights while increasing the lumens.
Just to play it safe you might want to get a line on a spare set of taillight lenses.

I'm not sure what the vehicle code in washington is...but here in CA that would be a fix it ticket...CVC 26101...which of course is an excuse for a cop to pull you over and find other stuff.....of course your exhaust would be other violation/giveaway.....but washington might have less strict muffler-smog laws? Granted most cops don't look at Porsche 928's as equipment violation cars......thats typically RICERS.....

Hi, for the stealth look I would suggest that you get some satin black hi heat spray paint and cover the exhaust bits you have dangling under the bumper, The lights do look good but since now there is not much color differentation on your rear the silver blow off valve is an attraction, PS why is the tow hook stuck in your bumper, is the car not running?

Actually..not when I stepped on the brakes....I was only talking the orange and red reflectiveness (not sure if there really is reflectiveness on our lenses)..but orange and red are naturally more noticeable in the daylight. I'll see if I can get a daytime pic that shows the brake light on...
Regarding the state codes..I'm sure WA is just as strict as CA is but I'm not going to worry about that. I've been running without a front plate since I've owned my 928's ..and not one ticket for that yet. If I get pulled over..it's usually due to being in a group of 928's .
As far at the Tial wastegate...it did get some interest from the cops that stopped by when I had my tensioner issues on the way to Spokane last fall...but again..as far as I know..there are no regs on engine mods in WA state...as long as they pass emissions..(and my county doesn't require emissions testing). The system does run a cat..so I don't have any worries about passing emissions.
And regarding the tow hook..haha....that is a remnant from when I got her towed to my shop to fix the alternator. Just left it in there since we just had a track day too...Figured if it's in there..I won't need it.. I guess it worked...that said..I did take it out recently...Oops..did I just jinx myself hahaha.

It comes in aerosol cans or little jars. Testors makes it in most of their brands (Testors, Model Masters, Pactra). They make smoke, "Window Tint", candy apple red, and candy grape (which is supposed to be good for turning amber lenses red). http://testors.com/ search for "trans" without the quotes.

Yep..exactly as Matt described. Mine was Model Masters (by Testors) and was a small aeresol can (about 4 inches tall).
This was enough to do both lenses with some left over..(probably enough for side markers too).
The tinting is deceptive though..as I started to spray them and it didn't look like it was covering..and then before I knew it..they were "DARK". Knowing that, I would spray them lightly and do several light coats..stopping and checking the darkness before adding another coat...etc etc..

Almost any auto paint shop can tint tail lights.
And it will look a lot better than DIY with Testors...
All they do is mix some black paint with clearcoat,
then one more coat of clearcoat on top of that,
and it will look great, and be very durable...
