I just saw at a local service station that E 85 was $1.99 per gal. whereas, Regular was $2.79. Has anyone looked into making or modifing a chip so as our 928's could run on this fuel, or are there more problems that need to be solved?

 

The biggest problem is old hoses and seals, not programming. The price will not stay that low. E85 is heavily subsidized. It takes more energy in petroleum to produce ethonol than you get in the product.

 

The other BIGGEST problem is that you'll need way larger injectors to use this stuff, since it doesn't contain any where near as much energy per unit of mass as pure gasoline.

Great stuff for the boosted cars, since it is very high octane. It isn't available in Florida, except at a pair of government-owned [and thus not-available to the general public: figure that one out-!] stations.

Also don't compare the price per gallon and figure your out of pocket savings. The lower energy content results in a signifcant reduction in fuel economy so even if you could get the material compatability and injector volume issues resolved there is not as much savings as you might hope for.

 

Its a great fuel to clean the carbon off your valves and pistons try 50/50 mix it will do wonders to maing a fuls system sparkle
