Default replaced timing belt and car won't start

I just got done doing the timing belt and water pump on my 80 928, and when I go to start it it just turns over and doensnt start. I smell fuel and it sounds like it isnt getting any spark, because the engine just turns over and doesnt even try to start. Is there any sensors that I might have knocked loose while doing the belt and water pump? Thanks

I think your right about the balancer, I should be able to read the #'s from the front of the car, right??? They are upside down now!!

The harmonic balancer has the aluminum portion facing forward, the painted portion faces the rear

Hey, the balancer is like the TB! No direction of rotation arrow!

Great! Flip that balancer around and redo the belt timing and come on up to Sharks in the Park next month!

Jim:

Educational request..... if you put the balancer on backwards, what does the cam timing end up being?
