Oh my god, Hacker I'm laughing out loud that's so funny. I engaged the screw driver blade in the gear teeth and then wedged the handle end of a ratchet between the screw driver and the housing to keep the driver from moving. I gotta know, where is that picture from? Damn... I'm still laughing!

I did a google image search for "giant screwdriver" - that is what came up.

Jim...its "actually" only 218#/ft. I see NO reason why a screwdriver the size of Flormat's can't withstand this leverage...

Just where did you wedge the big screwdriver?

Whatever you do, DON'T do this:



The screwdriver in this image is wedged against the timing ring behind the starter ring. This is press fit onto the flywheel. I learned from Jim B. that 218 ft lbs will cause the timing ring to slip.

EDIT: Well, this is not so bad after all. A few months later I found a note in the 1987 Service Technique that indicates the S4 and on flywheel and ring gear are ONE PIECE.
