Default Post your 16V Powder Coating Pics....

Guys, I'm going to be sending in my intake manifold for ceramic coating and I am trying to pick a color. I'm leaning towards the annodized black look I've seen on some 32V's.....Thanks.

I'm thinking of doing either a semi-gloss or gloss black for the intake, fuel rails, and cam towers. I was originally thinking of a metallic medium gray, but I'm leaning towards black now. There aren't very many PCed 16V intakes out there that I've seen. Most seem to just leave them as is, or polish them. I've seen a gold one which looked okay and a red one that I didn't really like.

I recently had mine powdercoated. The color is actually called 'chrome' but is far from it. It looks more like aluminum. I had the spider assembly, water bridge, oil filler, and various other brackets. Total cost was $250, well worth the money to me. I also replaced the plastic intake tubes with aluminum tubing.

Maybe check out the 944 forums as they have a much more visible cam tower than the 928 does. I have seen a lot of them painted, powdercoated and polished. Haven't seen as many here.

Chris, that engine looks great!

Engine still needed some clean-up here. Need to take some more up to date ones:

I am in the process of rebuilding my 82 euro motor . Black powdercoat on everything except the block. All of the hardware is stainless allen heads, exterior head bolts are also stainless steel. The headers are jet-hot coated. I do not have the intake on yet but it is also black powdercoat. I also have stainless braided hoses for all of the piping. here are a few pics. the last one is of the wifes 944 in back. IT,s a shame that alot of the detail won't be seen once installed.
