There is no better anti-depressant -- as long as traffic is acceptable (the less the better). Driving the 928 for an hour somehow takes all the stress away and gets me focused on something I enjoy. I wonder when they'll realize that 928 should be deductible as a health care expense...

I once loved to drive just for the sake of driving. My fantasy is a high max VISA card with the funds in the bank to cover it and a toothbrush......and an open road to wherever. Get to a coast? Put the car on a boat and visit another land far away.
When I was in Hawaii, (more specifically, Honolulu), I would often get a disease called Rock Fever, and need to get into my 911 and drive around the island. Awful place to have a P car, but occasionally it was fun. I lusted to return to Kalifornia.
When I lived in Carmel, CA, I would get off work early and drive my Speedster down Hwy 1 to Big Sur just for grins. Sometimes I would just drive into Carmel Valley until I got tired or sleepy.
I once worked as a salesman and covered a territory ranging from King City, California to Napa, California. I had a '66 911 which as some may remember was an incredible car for its day. I had two apartments: one on each side of Monterey Bay. Depending on where I worked that day, I would stay in one or the other apartment for the night. I put about 10,000 miles on my 911 a month at that job. Terrible, right? Had to spend so much time behind the wheel of such a car.
I once had a girlfriend who understood how to "receive affection": suggest going for a drive in the early evening. That insured a more stimulating end to the evening later. She knew how to play that fiddle. She also didn't drive a car and had no license, so she didn't have a clue what was up, just that it worked for her to let me get my jollies first driving my P car.
One of the most enjoyable activities for me is to ride in a P car that is well driven. And to make it even better, the driver should be an attractive woman. Lights MY fire.
A good reason for being self employed is that I can give myself permission to pack the P car and head for Laguna Seca during the week now and then to camp and watch the races. Hmmm....almost race season soon.....!!!
Every year the fun for me is to go to the Porsche Parade because I have to drive to get there; the farther the better. This year it is in Portland, Oreegun, which means I'll need to find some back roads or coastal roads to travel to take more time driving there from Kalifornia. Aw, why not go to Whistler afterward, so I can enjoy the nice ride through British Columbia?
In fact, before gas prices rise any further.......I think I'll take the rest of the day off and drive down to Carmel in the rain today.............see you guys later.

I'm grinding my teeth since I'm stuck at work for another 3 hours, Page just called letting me know my car 928 is ready - the 81 I haven't really driven since October of 2004 (my fault, took too long with a head gasket intall, long story). I dropped it off this morning to have Jim tension the timing belt since I do not have the tool yet.
The weather is awesome - the wife does not work tomorrow (normall she works Saturday)....I WANT OUT OF HERE!!!!!
I have a fever, the prescription is NOT more cowbell, I need a 928 road trip!!!

Drove the shark from Tennessee to Northern Viginia - 450 miles in 7 hours... got home unloded, showered, ate and had a glass of vino ... after about three hours of chillin ... you guessed it... I went for a ride! Sometimes I'll just go out and sit in it... and I've had a 928 for 14 years! It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

Definitely my form of stress relief and has been for years. My 500 served me well but the 928 with the 5spd just makes it that much sweeter.
I am currently going through withdrawal with my car...... My wife and I are in a predicament where we may be moving to MA and I haven't registered the car yet. Being in sales I can't risk a ticket so I can't drive the car until it's legal!!
I am so ready for regular evening rides to wind down from long work day.
