I used a 3/4" socket wrench (with an extension to the socket) and 3 feet of pipe on the end of the wrench. The extension twisted and broke.

The socket alone still fit, so I used just the wrench and socket. It took a lot of force, but it broke loose with a sharp crack/pop sound. I knew what it would sound like when it came loose, but it still made my heart jump.

I should have sent you my pipe, too. I didn't think of it. Sorry. You did get the package? I kept forgetting to mail it, so Janet took it to the post office for me on Wednesday. Sorry for the delay. You didn't go buy tools, did you?
