Default Shark Fin Antenna

My PO had a pig-tail antenna installed in the hatch, for his stone-age carphone. I finally got round to removing it, and replaced it with this multi-purpose antenna, which not only can supply Sirius, GPS, phone and regular radio signals, but also seems a more appropriate design for one of our cars!

This antenna will replace the Sirius antenna, did you confirm this?

Tnx Rod - but that one is AM/FM only.

They indicate that the are coming out with combinations of GSM, GPS, Satellite Radio, WIFI and DVB-T. You might contact them; that's what I did and got mine before they began selling them on the open market in the US.

Ah - the question still remains: How is the AM and the FM reception compared to either the in windshield antennae, or the '91+ roof mounted mast? I LIKE the looks, and if the reception is equal or better than the roof mast, I'd certainly replace the roof mast on my GTS

Thanks for any comments - Intrinsicate or Rod.

Mine's not as good as it should be, in my opinion, but it wasn't too good before, so it might not be the antenna's fault.. I am putting in a small - $10.00 amppifer from JC Whitney that someone recommended this weekend and will let you know what that does. If it works, I'm replacing the antenna on the 82 as well. I really like the look and I usually just listen to cd's and IPod in the car, but it still needs to work.

I may have to get one and give it a try. I've set at least one mast antenna free by not screwing it back in after cover removal. I've since learned to keep it in the door pocket when not installed.

I sent Sky Year a question about where the gain is derived via email (nerd stuff) and they called me within minitues with an answer.

Cheers,

I'll wait for the XM version. Hope it can be split as I have a separate XM box.

Same with me too, except I'm looking for a Sirius antenna.
