Default Why do I keep blowing fuel lines?

Is there any rhyme or reason why I would keep blowing the small hoses that go from the fuel rail to the injector? It seems to only be happening on the passenger side. I replaced all of them on both sides a couple of months ago and have had to replace the passenger side ones once already.

Use high pressure fuel injection hose. It's usually rated for 150psi+. Also, use fuel injection clamps. They do not cut into the fuel line.

If your not using the Porsche hose replacement kit, you should.

Often people use a knife to remove the old hardened hose. In doing so, they cut too deep, and into the hose barb creating gouge which affects the seal.

There are two absolute 'musts' when refreshing injector hoses on a L-jet.
The correct hose size and type is one, and has been mentioned. The second is that the hose sections must all be cut to the exact same length per rail ... this is more obvious when you look at how the rail clamps down.
If one follows these two points, the original cup washers can be reused without hose clamps to effectively seal the rail ..... that's why equal lengths are important .... so that the cups can equally compress the hose tips to the nipple bores.
On disassembly, the good practice tip with hoses is to only cut halfway through: this generally relieves adequate pressure to twist them off. The 'full cut' often gets one the sad result Borland notes.

I did make sur that they were all the same length, and did use fuel injection hose, but i did use regular hose clamps and removed the old ones using a razor blade. I'll try to find the OEM replacement kit and file down any rough edges. Thanks guys.

You can get the kit from any of the "Big 3" RENNLIST sponsors. That hose is wire reinforced and much tougher than the hose you used.

You can carefully remove any gouges with a small file and polish them with 1000 or 2000 grit sand paper. Also, 928Intl sells used injectors at a very reasonable price, so that might be a better way if you find deep gouges across the barb.

yeah I need to get some injectors, but I must be the poorest rennlister ever. I seem to have a hard time spending $150 a pop for used injectors, Hell I have a hard time spending that on new injectors.

jarroyo are you using fuel injection clamps? Not worm hose clamps but clamps made for FI.
