The most I've ever put in is 17 gal, and mine never gets above the 3/4 mark either. The first couple weeks I had it, I tried patiently to wait to the reserve light came on but I could never stomach it watching that needle get waaaaay low. I'm sure the 928 must be a PITA to steer and push at the same time, by yourself anyway...

Is'nt the fuel pump in the tank? and if so arent you afraid of burning it out with no fuel to cool. I did this with my truck "GM" if it was'nt under warr it would of costed 800$

Mine reads about right empty and full now that I've cleaned up all of the contacts, though I haven't checked the intermediate marks. I like to wait till the low fuel light comes on when I can -- it's reassuring to see it come on at about the right mileage -- tells me the engine is in about the right state of tune, and reassures me that the light still works.

We have a winner.
I never run mine past 1/4, pumps are just too expensive to replace because you let them run hot from not having fuel to cool them.

Sackville, NS.

You can change the display language, search the archives. My GT is a german spec car. I changed the language from German to English. Being Euro, however, I cannot toggle out of Metric units of measure to Imperial. NA cars can. No biggie. I am bilingual when it comes to measures.

In my former 88 928 I ran it out to an Pcar meet in Phoenix Arizona from Los Angeles. I went 420 some odd miles, the last few with the warning lamp glowing before chickening out and fueling up. To be fair ,near the end I was tooling around town looking for the meet so no danger of having to walk too far. Result at fill up was 21.5 gallons.

In my 89 it has been much the same. I can run 400 miles at a good clip, fill up and it'll be anywhere from 18-20 gallons.
