Mel-
I always been here - just more of a lurker.
Been registered since July '04.
I won't leave the forum just because the sharks are gone.
I'll have the break out a pic of the Ukrainian twins that I excorted to the prom last year.
Yup, that's right, I took a pair of twins to the prom.
It was a blast.
Best,
Vincent

Vincent,
Good Luck. Hope you get a fair price for them.
I'm a (4 weeks from finishing) Podiatry Resident. I've helped Orthopods on THA (Total Hip Arthroplasties)--never done one with Ceramic. Most people feel MUCH better with the new hip (my grandfather included, and shortly, my Father will have one or two installed).
That all being said...
Keep the one that would bring the least money. Keep it up, stored if necessary. In 10-15 years, the prosthetics may have changed enough that you will have no problems getting in and out of the car. You are young enough (and Osteomyelitis is focal--so you don't have the same whole body issues that older people with Osteoarthritis have) that you might be able to get back into driving. 30 to 35 is still pretty damn young (I'm a bit older than that myself).
For now---buy a Cayenne Turbo (should be a bit easier to get into....)

Yeah, you will definately have to post the pics of the twins.... most here would enjoy those pics more than Shark photos, less the pics are of the twins AND your sharks..... then you'll get lots of brownie points!

Wow.
I don't have any advice about the sale price of your sharks. But your story is very powerful. Every time I get feeling a little sorry for my own trials and challenges, someone comes along and makes me feel a little ashamed of myself.
You have my highest admiration. Best of luck in everything.

Bummer!
Suffering from Airborne and 'Mongo can lift it disease' knees & compressed spine, myself. Chronic pain does make one cranky.
At 243lbs and active there is no hope of a lasting fix.
Relagated to auto sHARKs and loving it , I might add.
Only Ukaranian exports I have seen lately is in the way of six inch structural pipe - I trust the twins look somewhat better...

I agree with the Ebay preview for pricing, though there are some weird fluctuations at times, if so just re-auction. ALWAYS protect yourself with a reserve. You can always lower a high reserve, but then you might not have to.
In any case you can compare your sHARKs to other Ebay posters by description,
or photo's to ballpark a fair price.

Vincent: You are an incredible young man! I very much admire that after all you went through, you keep your positive outlook. It's an inspiration for me, and hopefully for many others who have the privilege of meeting you. I wish you best of luck in selling the cars and making the new hips last for a long time.

Fun as H*ll!
I've had a 68 390 Go-pak auto, a 70 Red/white/blue Rebel Machine 4 spd and a 74 Javelin AMX 360 (P code) 4 spd with twin grip... Still have a spare 70 390 and 73 401 motors lying here.
The 343 was called the Typhoon, the 290's were called HiPo's (for their 10.2:1 compression). Let me know if you decide to part with that one.

It's a 290 Typhoon with a 3-Speed Auto.
The Go Package was not available on the 290s.
It a bit more difficult to find this combo - far more 390s were made.
Only 430 of this configuration were made in 1968.
It is Matador Red with a red interior.
It has 69K original miles.
I'll try and get some pics of it as well as the other toys over the weekend.
Mike and Bill-
Thank you very much for your well wishes - they are appreciated.
While the surgeries weren't fun, they were necessasry.
Growing up I learned that it's best not to dwell on the down but to remember the ups.
Best regards,
Vincent

Vincent,
What an incredible story! I commend you on your attitude and perseverence. I had a '68 AMX when I was your age as well. White w/ black stripes and a red interior. 343 auto. Great car but the rear end was way too light. Lots of memories. Sold it in '79 so I could get married.
I wish you the best, you definately seem to have your priorities set right.

Hell of a story, Vincent. Hang in and here's to a positive change in your luck. Sounds like what didn't kill you made you stronger.
As for pricing on eBay, don't forget that you can view items completed in the previous 90 days. Hmmm ... can you do that on Craigslist or the others.
You have to register, but that's free and mine's stayed private, I think. No attributable spam.
