Default Tune Up - Newbie Needs Help

I have recently just purchased a 1982 928 Euro S AT. The only problem the car had was fuel filter/pump issues. Now that this is fixed, and I was wondering what things do yall suggest that I should replace/clean in the engine to improve its preformance?

If it is a Euro S it should be making 300 hp so first check the engine number on the block to confirm what the engine is. It should be an M28/10 . Second check the ignition timing vacuum line disconnected it should be about 28 degrees before TDC @ 3000 rpm (a USA spec is only 23 degrees) so often Euro engines in this country are set at USA specs which is somewhat retarded. The factory Porsche ignition wire sets are rather expensive and often not replaced we have excellent aftermaket wires at a reasonable price , distributor cap should be checked /replaced and the Euro ignition rotor has a rev limiter built in BUT the cheaper USA version does not so typically the car will have a USA rotor which means you can over rev the engine which is not really a good thing. Also check the exhaust system because during the Federalizing process all kinds of rude things may have been done to fit a cheap small catalytic convertor and may be restricting the exhaust. The Euro S engine responds well to tubular headers.
