Default Picked up the 928 from Storage

After over 5 months in storage the 928 is back home. There is still to cold and far to much salt and sand on our Vermont roads to drive it, but at least it's home. I will send the next several months getting the pile of parts I purchased this winter on it. I will start with a clutch job, doing everything from the pilot bearing to the throwout bearing and the slave cylinder while I'm at it. Other items on the list are:

Front Lower Ball Joints, and an alignment
Flushing the cooling system, new thermostat and fan switch
Tensioning the TB
Oil Change
Replace factory fan with an electric fan
Front Rotors and pads
Rear rotors, pads and calipers
New brake lines (after 26 years it makes sense)
Front sway bar mount reinforcement
Mount 928 Specialists front sway bar
Carbon Fibre front cross brace
New Front Spoiler
Minor paint work on left rear quarter panel, paint has niticeable crazining
Clear corner lenses
New steering wheel
New Tags.. Vt plate EURO S

And I am sure one or two things that I will find that need attention when I get go through the list I have. It will be nice to see the pile of parts in my basement on the car. It is amazing how much you can spend on parts when the car is in storage.

I hope to have it all done in time for SITM in June. I have attached a photo of my starting point

Paul - Looks great! I like those rims . I'm getting ready to wake mine up soon also. I had a huge list of repairs/upgrades like yours last year when I upgraded to S4 brakes. This year it's just tires. Good luck!

Yeah, yeah winter is almost over. Need to get the bear awakened. Ott Drop Links, TB Tension Check, hopefully I'll be getting the greaseable bushing and drop the battery in. Warm her up and change the oil, then check her over for any new issues.

I can't wait.

Part of the work is done, had the clutch replaced. Ended up with a few extra things to have handled. The clutch arm pivot ball was falling out of its socket. Had the bellhousing removed that the socket hole filled with aluminum and then redrilled. New nylon cup for good measure. I shifts so sweetly and the chatter is gone now. The coolant expansion tank big crack in it about 1 inch above the bottom so it got replaced to. The mastercylinder was leaking fluid into the brake booster so it too was replaced. Finally the backup lights and the windsheild warsher pump were not working. Fouled connections proabally occured during the storage period. Next up lower ball joints, tierod ends and an alignment.

It is the unexpected things that drive you crazy.

Paul, those are the same wheels I had on my 944, very nice wheels, I almost put them on my 928, but changed my mind.

Justin,

I really like the look of the wheels 17x7.5 in front and 17x9.5 in the rear really fill the wells. And I did not do bad on the price.
