Actually, it should say "elusive color", because it was a standard metallic color for the model year, but very rare in the US.

The dealers only seem to order the stuff they know is mainstream and easy to sell. That's why there are certain colors we don't see on 928s very often. This is one of them. VERY unique!

There you are Nicole. I knew you'd have info on this subject. Cool - it's an elusive color, that sounds good.

I saw the color on a Porsche back in 1978. Can't remember if it was a 928 or a 911 (in the dealer showroom). I think it was a 928. Yes, because it was the first 928 I saw, live, in the metal so to speak. Boy, did I love that color (still do). My then girlfriend (who became my wife, now ex-wife) and I lusted over that car for weeks. It's what opened her eyes to the existance of Porsche cars. But back then they called it Iced Green. That was the only 928 I ever saw with that color in my entire life. Man, wish you would had been selling about 20 months ago when I was looking. That is my favorite exterior color option on a 928.

Iced Green or any color similar to Chrystal Green does not show in my color charts for 78 or79. Maybe it was a 77 color, but certainly not standard in those other years.

I had a Saab 900 Turbo in a similar color, it looks great in real life. If you are on the fence about this car due to the color I suggest you try to find an example in your area you can check out in person.

Beth;

Ice green metalic and crystal green are two different colors. Ice green used on early 911's and crystal green also used on mid 80's 944's.
If you do a search on the 944 forums, someone has collected pics of green '44's, one being a crystal green. Can't say i've seen it on a 928 though... cool color.

So what's thet latest on this story? Has the car changed hands already, or is Andy still in the game for adding to his collection of 1:1 scale 928 models?

Let's just say the car has not changed hands yet. And there is some pondering going on. And this story to be continued . . . . .

Pictures on the way. I know, I know, I've said this before but I promise to take some tonight.
