What would doing a suede dash/pod cover entail? Is it just the reverse side of leather? I want something to match a linen interior. The car's going to Arizona when finished. Is the suede side more able to take the Arizona sun without cracking? BTW, beautiful work.

Hey Mark: you are on the list for a brown pod. If your brown is dark, it's probably the #924 on this chart: GAHH color chart
It looks purple on my screen, but Rob assures me that all the browns of the last run were this one and were a match.
Hey Lex: if you want to go suede, there are a few different ways we can go.
For my car, I choose to go with the reverse side of the Nubuck leather I used for the back of the seats and the piping all through the car. That will give you a rougher type of suede, which is what I wanted to contrast with the Ostrich.
We can also go with an actual suede, which basically as the same texture on both sides. It's the same as mine, with a bit finer texture.
The third option is Alcantara. I have their color chart which I can send you.
You have a lot of options that will go well with linen. What color is the car?
By the way guys, you can all reach me directly at champagn@stx.rr.com
Thanks
Paul

Absolutely unbelievable The attention to detail is amazing and the fit and finish is as good as factory.
First thing out of my wifes mouth when she saw the ostrich "I bet he can make a great purse" !!
Curious, have you investigated various types of glue for the pod and other surfaces which weren't previously covered with leather? I ask because I know most owners will want to maintain their leather and I'm wondering how various conditioners affect the glue.

my wife is on my case for the same thing
The newer generations of contact cement are not to be compared with what Porsche used 30 years ago. We have some really excellent adhesives to work with these days.
For my own interior, I choose to use a 3M product that I use in my other business. It comes as a double sided tape, as a temperature range up to 400 degrees F and actually gaines strenght with age.
Regular conditioning, unless you actually soak the leather, should not affect any of these modern adhesives.

HEy Mark,
are you matching your color by the color chart alone?
I completed my first samples and I am getting where I want to be quality wise.
I will have pictures soon.
Contact me directly at champagn@stx.rr.com and we will figure out a way to make sure of what your color is.
Thanks
