If it is a rare color (sounds like it)...find a good body shop and they "can" mix you a small amount...it will be pricey...but it should match really well!

Thread from the dead.

I'm in the same boat. There is a newer meteor metallic available, is it that far off from our old beasts?

At $24 on Ebay, I'd think you could get it from PaintScratch just as cheap & know that it'd more likely match a 928. Especially if the newer one is a different paint code. I've used PaintScratch multiple times for multiple cars & always happy with what they've sent me.

Just looked on PaintScratch & their price for a paint pen or 1oz paint bottle is $14.95 & the clear coat is $7.58. Comparing the paint codes, a '85 928 is 961/Y5, whereas the newer meteor metallic is M7W/90

Dr Color Chip has it as well. If you've never tried their product, it's worth a look.
