For those with Meteor Metallic it illustrates the color matching that you get from paintscratch.com, the color is almost a perfect match, the flake in the metallic isn't perfect though, and for large areas I would recommend a paint shop do the touch up.

Drifting
Reviving an old thread because I followed George's advice and tried Dr. ColorChip. It works as directed for small rock chips. Some I can't find anymore, others are much improved. The results improved as my technique improved. Scratches are harder than chips, but eventually I achieved good results on light scratches - bigger than those that can be buffed out and through the clear coat. The road rash on the side mirrors is gone from 3 ft away. I was surprised and impressed at this point. The paint is matched very well - Venetian Blue is hard to match.
Two things I wanted to share:
- Their "Activating" solution that removes the excess touch up paint around chips and smooths the paint into the chip seems to have some fine polishing media in it. At Camp928 Bob V. noticed a paint blemish on the left front fender. It looks like a bird dropping was allowed to sit too long. When I applied the Activating solution to a freshly painted chip I noticed it removed very fine scratches in the clear coat around the chip. I tried it on the blemish and saw immediate results. After three or four more applications and removal by polishing with a microfiber towel the blemish is gone. Completely gone.
- The micro brushes work great and conserve paint, but the Dr. ColorChip kit only included two. Amazon has lots of these micro brush kits for touch up paint for about $10 for 100 brushes. However, I read a comment that these brushes are merely makeup brushes and can be found cheaper if searched for in makeup/cosmetics. Sure enough - 400 micro brushes (four color coded tip sizes, 100 brushes each) for $11. Score!
