Default Tool mod for those who creep under the 928.

Tired of feeling around blindly to find something when you're creeping? Here's a handy mod I did to the creeper to make it easy to keep up with tools, nuts, bolts, etc. The magnetic tool holders came from Norther Tool ($9) and I attached them with sheet metal screws. Right side holds the tools I'm using for the job at hand and the left side holds the nuts, bolts, washers, etc. I remove in the process.

Hope it comes in handy.

Cool idea! I guess you'll still need a bowl for aluminum & plastic parts though...

I've seen magnetic bowls for such small parts. Just too lazy to find them until I need them and then I swear all day because I don't have them. Maybe a small 'shelf' could be added to one side of your creeper for a magnetic bowl. Then you'd be in business.

HTML Code:
the left side holds the nuts, bolts, washers, etc
Why don't you just make a fitment for the ashtray to hold the nuts, bolts, washers, etc.
Mine is already almost full with surplus ones that were left over after various jobs.
Then you can just put the ashtray back in the car complete with any left over bits when you are finished.

ps good job

Looks great.

A couple of magnetic part holders (various sizes) from Harbor Freight.

Nice product but I hate creepers. Prefer the large cardboard on the floor method. If you ever tied to use a creeper while loosening or tightening nuts/bolt you’ll know what I mean. Its’ like being in space and Newton’s first law become a real PITA. I nave to work extra hard, bracing myself, just to perform the simplest of tasks. The stupid thing rolls around with me on it every time I try to use leverage on a nut/bolt. They are great if you only want to inspect something or perhaps change the oil, but for anything more than that they are a nuisance. To top it all off, you loose valuable clearance with a creeper and the next day the back of my arms are all bruised up from the frame of the creeper. Mine folds up to a rolling stool and that’s about all I use it for.

I’ve seen another neat product for the creeper on the TV show, Trucks. They are caster wheels with a small brush in front of it. This clears any debris that the wheels might hang up on.

Trust me, it will NOT move the cord for the light.

Nice. All it needs is a beer holder and a place to keep a cell phone. That way you can call neighbor when the car falls off the jackstands.
