Gentlemen, you may very well be right about the car being stolen - this could explain how the car can be salvaged without any signs of serious damage.

Have you had any problems with passing smog (since the car was a salvage title)? I am interested in having a look at your car if it is still for sale.

I know in AZ - having a salvage titles doesn't mean it was seriously wrecked. It just means that the cost to repair the car, with OEM parts, exceeded the value of the car.

If the damage exceeds 70% of the cars value it usually gets a salvage title. A theft/recovery would possible be a 100% payoff and hence the salvage title. A few years ago there was on average 5+ stolen/recovery explorers at a Detroit salvage auction (co-part) every week. Some would be pretty much complete and some were completely stripped. They almost always had salvage titles.
