BTW, that's got to be 1/8th mile with stats of 4.464 seconds @ 168.07 MPH (still very impressive - I'm sure Tony would love a rind in it!). Top fuel dragster do a 1/4 mile in roughly the same time, but have top speed of about 330 MPH. Just so we're somparing apples to apples.

I was most impressed with the wheelie.
It ran the 1/8th in 4.464@168.07mph.
That translates into a 1/4 mile ET of 7.0008 seconds!!!!

Just another example of CHEVY horsepower ... The ONLY thing Porsche is the body shell. But still very very fast ! would not turn at all with the solid rear axle (ford 9 inch no doubt)and huge slicks with a spool.

Dont worry malibu, i love the blown yellow beast too.(I posted pix of it on my site months ago, lol).
Imo, i think the conversion formula takes gearing into account but it might not. Getting it geared right would just be a ring and pinion change, and while it could possibly cost the car quite a lot of time i would think that it would still easily be a sub 8 second ride.
The dude coulda put ANY shell on his 7 second machine, he chose a Porsche 928 shell.
I am honored, as we all should be.
JIM: When is the big 3/5 gonna get together and build/sponsor a sub 10 second PORSCHE powered 928 drag car? WE ALL WANT TO SEE THAT VIDEO!!!!!!

Ah no one here (except Tom with his 65 El Camino 383) really is very interested in drag racing. I guess when you do drive an a road racing track and in one weekend get 2 1/2 ,3 hours of track time racing as fast as the car will go from corner to corner what happens in 14 seconds or less on a 1/4 mile just does not seem very significant. I get more track time in one weekend than the entire Force Family does in a year. SURE THEY ARE A LOT FASTER ..so what ! And the more you modify a car for drag racing the less it becomes able to do anything else well but drag race. But there is something for everyone tractor pulls, lawnmowers , airplanes , horses if it moves someone will race it !
