Why does my oil pickup tube not look like this?
My oil pickup tube looks much different than this picture (actually carl's engine). There is also a screen with a circle cut out in the middle in my oil pan. Was there a change over at some point? Will my engine be okay if I keep mine? I am installing a crank scraper. I dont have any pics of mine yet.

You have the correct pick-up & screen deal for an '80. The single pick-up pictured came in a year or two later, and can be easily updated if required. Somewhat over engineered, the early version works just fine - and will stay in my '80.
