Isn't that the guy from sha na na.

I actually like the look of the ws6 ta. But if dragging is that important to you, boost or bore your shark and post times like tony, sab, and old&new and then you can tell us great stories like they do.

Like Lance says it doesn't take much before you would lose traction. My euro is exceptionally quick 0-60, but it is not the reason to own a 928.

icsmike, who else? He started the thread and seems bothered by some co-workers' bragging. But it could be a universal "you" for all those who give a **** about seriously competing at redlights.

WHY??

Jim H & Heinrich exactly!! One of my favorite "street encounters" was about 12 years ago. I was driving a grey market 85 M6, and a friend his extremely ratty late 60's 400GT Lamborghini. Its exhaust system was falling off and it was riding on Goodyear Polyglass snow tires. The car hadn't been used regularly in years if not decades. It was sold and we were dropping it off at a transporter. What a fun event. The cars were virtually identical in acceleration but different shift points gave each car an edge at different speeds.

Then bolt a superchargeer on the "newer" car. Someone is always going to have bigger johnson. Go back and read the articles. They never got any respect until the S4's when the auto community finally agreed that this was the car that Porsche should have made from the beginning.

Alot of the "newer" cars do have superchargers or turbos to put out the power they have.

No respect until the S4?

This summarizes quite nicely.....sure a 02 WS2 TA is pretty quick....but its still a POS american car that doesn't brake or handle very well and will fall apart in a couple years....whats even more stupid is this guy probably paid $30K for this bucket!! So take the price of your 86.5 add 5-7K for a supercharger...you will blow his doors off and still have $15K in your pocket!! Plus your insurance is cheap since its a "classic" car and he pays out the a!?@ss for his teenager hotrod!

Honestly there is no incentive to race him....if you loose he will talk trash for years!!! If you win he will cry, bitch and moan about something and how you cheated....& always want a rematch....just tell him you only race "modern" engined vehicles (i.e. ones that aren't a rehash of 1955 technology) or only vehicles with independant rear suspension, since live axles only belong on trucks! Bottom line...he wants to race you, not the other way around!!

I'm not sure how I'd respond to a guy that said,

"I'm gonna rape you a new *** on the pavement"

I've blown the doors off of a few 951s and i can't beat a Ram Air T/A(at least not so far).

Go figure.

Square your car up, meaning make it run like new, get the suspension upgraded, and take it and your buddy in the TA to an open invite DE (Drivers Education) at your local track. It will be an eye opener for both of you.

Adendum : Ask any self respecting bimbo whitch automobile she would prefer lay down in!?
