I put in a quick release between my Momo steering wheel, and the Momo adapter. It adds about 1", which is just right for me with the wheel I have.
That's what I did (but I am only 6'0").

My mother would have told me to fill my pockets with rocks and hang from a bar for a while...

If the Momo extender isn't enough, you can try the 2" Sparco extender. I have one on my car w/ a Momo wheel. It's cheap, has the same bolt pattern and puts the wheel another inch closer. Only downside is that the Momo horn button is jammed tight because the inner diameter of the Sparco extender is slightly too small. With some filing I think you could make it fit.

What a guy! Good man. Keep up the testing.

Can't say as I haven't driven a non-sunroof 928, although I have convinced myself that I must have one. As long as its a 5 sp. In excellent shape. And is very cheap. And yes, the seat is reclined way back.

Very cool Dennis, thanks for the info, links and pictures! That Sparco extender is the ticket, as I just learned this weekend that the Momo spacers (1"/25mm) are designed to be used only one at a time. In other words, you can't use 2 of them to get 2" of extension.

Or at least, they don't recommend that you do that as apparently you may have a hard time finding bolts that long, and the bolt strength may be suspect if you do find them. In any case, the Sparco spacer gets you the 2" no problems, so that is the way I will go.

Ok, here are some more data points for you extra tall dudes out there, and anyone else that is extremely bored, or just must know because its 928 related.

I researched the various Momo wheels, which ones are dished and which are not, what the various dish sizes are, and what's the final configuration going to look like.

Looks like for dished wheels, the two Momo's that offer the most dish are the:

1. Mod 08 Drifting Racing Steering Wheel
Diameter = 350 mm (13.8")
Dish = 90 mm (3.54") !
Rim thickness = 30 x 30 mm (1.18")

2. Mod 07 Racing Steering Wheel
Diameter = 350 mm (13.8")
Dish = 70 mm (2.76")
Rim thickness = N/A

I believe the Mod 07 is what Joe F is using (posted previously), and he likes it.

So, I think I will go with the dished Momo Mod 07 steering wheel first and try out the 2.76" dish/extension.

If that is not enough, I can try either the Momo 1" extension ring, or the Sparco 2" extension ring and I should be good to go.

Once I get that straightened out, then I need to figure out how to get the steering column levers closer to me. I have some ideas, but I'll wait until I get the steering wheel positioned before I mess with that.

Thanks for all the great input guys. I'll report back once I've gotten the steering wheel purchased and mounted. -Ed

just to add my 2 cents worth, ive added momo wheels and the sparco 2" extender to both of my cars and wouldnt have it any other way. i think anything less than 2" is not enough, and yes the stalks are further away but before you know it they seem just fine - if you drive the beast a lot the momo wheels feel great, have a thicker rim and are a little smaller 350mm i think, a great mod to improve the feel of the steering input. no one has mentioned that going to a smaller wheel does make the steering more weighty. momo has lots of nice wheels to choose from, i went for the jet in both cases.
