Default Feedback on 928 International Parts

I own a 1989 928 S4, and I need to purchase a major part soon. I was wondering if anyone has purchased any major used parts such as transmissions, rear-ends, or engines from 928 International. If so, were you satisfied with the product and the service after, and during the purchase?

Any advice will be greatfully appreciated. Thanks.

It's unlikely you're going to hear anything bad about 928 International. It's a very professionally run company with excellent reputation.

I have not purchased any large parts from them, however I have purchased quite a few parts in restoring my 83 S AT to stock setup and have had excellent experience. Only once was an item delayed, it was ordered late in the week before a holiday weekend. I believe that it was actually the delievery company as it came the very next day.

I live in the UK and can't fault the high level of service and speedy delivery! It's quicker for me to order from International in the US than UK suppliers. I think 3 days from order to delivery has been the best so far. Nice work fellas!

Welcome -if you haven't yet read the new visitors post, top line, please do so. It is filled with many points of interest, including links to the 'big 3' suppliers ( which has now grown to 5).
Search the archives under the 928 forum, and you should find the answer to your poll.

Get that stupid poll off of here. I find it offensive and insulting at the same time.

Very very reasonable question for a newbie. Fred ... he's not intending anything and I asked the same stuff when I was new. Tea Leaf: let me put it this way:

The integrity, knowledge and downright world-class service and parts you'll get from 928 International's Mark Anderson (owner) and Jim Bailey, are second to none. Are you hearing me? I don't mean in California, or in the US, and I don't mean in 928 parts. I mean, second to none. Period.

Why do I say this? I have owned oh I don't know, maybe 10 or so 928's .... and every one of them has some sort of 928 International part on it. Have I ever had problems with a part from them? YES. YES I have. One time a part was damaged in shipping. Mark sent a new one free. It again was damaged in shipping. Again he shipped one free, this time overnight. After a few choice words to the shipping company of course .... Bottom line, their parts are very carefully disassembled and saved, their shop is open for anyone to walk through, their service is the best I've ever had anywhere, and they are ....

NICE GUYS

New Poll: Do you find the big three: (a) excellent (b) great (c) friendly (d) all of the above.

I think you'd find that most people here, including self, would choose (d). I can't imagine owning a 928 without them.

The Big 3 is an old term, imo. There are a couple of other guys doing nice work now. I think many would agree the old Big 3 is now the Big 2, unless you added the new guys.

Right. I tried to get prices on engine rebuild parts ($1k+) from DEVEK and never heard back. They haven't updated their website in years or sent new catalogs. Guess their business has changed. More in-house work?

Nice to see someone doesn't like 928I. Don't want that crew to get too comfortable and stop getting better.

tleaf321: Buy from 928 International with confidence.

I'll tell you how efficient and professional they are: so much so that you think you are ordering parts for a car still in production that are just pulled off the shelf.

Its easy to forget that, even when the 928 was still being manufactured, it was a limited-production exotic and hard to get parts for. Now its a discontinued limited-production exotic sports car. Tom, Jim and Mark at 928 Intl make it easy to keep this marque on the road.

Its safe to say the vast majority of this forum will have nothing but postive things to say about 928intl.... Professionals at what they do, customer service is their top priority and it shows! Everything I have ever bought from them arrived quickly and worked as advertised or better. Plus I like to think some of my $$ supports Marks wicked racecar!
