Default 3 states, 1100 miles, 1 car safely at her new home!

I made one heck of a drive today, from Scottsdale to Dallas. What a ride!
There is no other car I could've done this in. She absolutely cruised the entire way, mostly at 80ish, and got just under 20mpg. I've got two fused discs and one that's pretty much shot, and my back is really no worse for the wear. My neck and shoulders are a little sore, but all in all, this is the most comfortable car I've ever driven. Here are a couple of pics, she's due for a nice wash tomorrow. Pardon the wires, I threw the Sirius receiver in before the drive.

Ed I took a little drive myself in solidarity with you, in my '87 S4 ... what a rush! ,,,, done the 1100 straight shot from San Francisco too in a 928 ... nice way to get acquainted with your 928 - picked my S4 up in Albuquerque 6 years ago, drove to Seattle. Loved every second.

Sweet ride. How do you like those sheep skin seat covers? I was considering some of those for my 81', as the seats are looking pretty tired.

JimG yeah those are cool, they make a great matching dash cover -- I have a hood cover to match too. Very cozy

Ed... glad you're all home safely. Nice ride, eh?

Congrats.

Sheepskins are comfy, too (at least mine are).

G'luck.

Tragically, few curves on that route.
Shur is a purtty young thang, but really...
Is it legal? She's only 15!

Only a 15 year old Porsche could be considered a young car. Congrats.

The sheepskins are from the Rocky Mountain Sheepskin company, I'm pretty sure. The seller had them off so I could see that the seats were in great shape. I stuck them back on before leaving for home, and I'm glad I did. The allow a nice cushion of air around your body, IMO.

John: Not a lot in the way of curves, but some nice long Interstate and some elevation change to test the power of the engine.

BTW- Two saves by my S2 radar detector! People I was running with were pulled over both times.

Messin' with ya Ed ... I agree they feel great, had em on my 123 Benz years ago ... spendy little suckers, real sheepskin .... but I cannot bring myself to put them in my Porsche.
