Larry928GTS - that would be up to the owner of the car. If he/she wants to take a rider, thats OK with me. Come-on... bring your car, pay the fee... take some laps! Consider it "collision avoidance training" so you don't bend that pretty GTS because of an avoidable driver's error someday.
There will be something like 4 gorups - based on the driver and their level of comfort... not the car.
Group 4: for those who want to do some laps in peace. No race experience, no track experience neccesary. Just get the feel of the track and your 928 a bit.
Group 3: Just like Group 4 but for those who are a tad more comfortable and want to "take it up a notch".
Group 2: maybe you've read some driving books, run a few autocrosses and parking lot events. You are a student of driving.
Group 1: you are the most comfortable with your car and high speed cornering. Probably have some light to moderate track experience.
This is NOT A RACE - even in Group 1 we will be encouraging a Nine/Tenths driving style - this is a "get to know the limits of your 928" education event and there is no reason to be bend sheetmetal.
The corner workers, the crew, and the Steward of the event (me) is going to do all we can to make sure no 928 is damaged in any way. Passing will only be allowed on the straights, and only if "pointed over" by the driver being over-taken. More on that at the morning Driver's Meeting. I just want you to be comfortable bringing your beautiful 928 out ot play.
Heck - we'll even run the cars through a simple Tech Inspection before they are allowed to go on the track - and we will turn that into a learning session too.... I can show you what happens at a Tech Inspection, what they look for, and how to do your own.

One of the reasons I asked about people being able to ride along as passengers was because of people who might fly in for the event, and wouldn't have their car there. If you can't drive to the event, you'd still be able to fly in and maybe ride along with someone on the track. It might not be quite as much fun as driving your own car yourself, but it would still be fun and maybe pretty educational as well.

Are you going to open this up to rental cars too? It was only a couple decades ago that I did a driver's school in a rented trans-am... Cheaper in the long run, especially when travel time is tight. Maybe after the PCA entry list is opened? Budget rents Mustangs...

Put me down as highly likley to attend. Need to check with the warden and she is out of town. Couple of questions. (1) I don't really think of my 928 as a DE car (I use the 911SC for that), mostly because I can tow it with my tow dolly. Will there be some technical assistance available so I don't have to face the risk of leaving the thing 1000 miles from home? (2) How about a zip code for the track so I can do a easy mapquest? (3)What hotel arrangments are you making and discounts? (4)Wed breakfast? (5) Monday cocktail hour gathering?
