Interior Finally Done...
Not sure about the hex nuts, may either redo the panels without the nuts, but maybe it will grow on me or lo better when I install the aluminum switch bits from jaeger I ordered today...

Maybe use little dome head allen screws more like the ones on the steering wheel or use a thicker plate and countersink for the exact same style screws as the wheel. With a thicker plate you could mill out some detail work as well.

yeah - I'm with Jim - go for a smoother look - the rest is nice but the hex heads look too different - not flush enough for the rest if it - Great Job!
I'd like to see how that door pull panel (the wood and aluminum) would look in carbon fibre finsh...

Yeah, I'm not feeling the wood trim on that car...
You have a theme of grey, black and silver...
Even with the rear speakers.
So I'd stick to that pallette.
Go with black, silver, and grey components,
and ditch that wood stuff...
You have the silver and grey in the door panels,
the wheel, and in the rear. I'd just complete the look...
I'd use the same speakers in the front, as you have in the rear.
That way they bring some red into the interior, to match the exterior.
And they have silver accents... I'm not digging the star pattern speaker
cutouts much either. I think matching to the speakers in the rear would
be the way to go... And install that silver Jaeger stuff, and you will be
in good shape...

Nice work, but I'm with Davis on the wood trim....I think the Jager aluminum kit would fit so much better with the theme of the interior!! Maybe continue the smaller metal door panel to fit just outside of the jager kit! That plus the metal vent surrounds would be sweet!!

I know it was a lot of work and money, but I'm sorry. I don't like it. There is no apparent flow, direction or theme of any kind. It's a mish-mash of a lot of different color shades and ideas. Someone who's good at automotive interior designing should have first planed this project. Again, I'm sorry!

Boy - you guys are a tough crowd... In the end it only matters that Malibu likes it... thats the only opinion that really matters.
But remember - for a lot of folks if it isn't stock its just wrong!
Personally I think we need more new ideas - not everything can be to everyones tastes but if you see just one part of someone elses work you like... gets you thinking... So - Good for you for both doing it and sharing!

Alan, I agree. I wouldn't do most of the mods Malibu has done to his car, but I can see how other people would like them and even like some of them myself. I like that he's trying new things and pushing the envelope. The suede headliner, Q-panels, and A-pillars are very cool. His interior guy just failed miserably with the door panels. No flow with the rest of the interior or even within the panels themselves, and bad choice of materials.

I like what you have going with the exception of the wood. It doesn't work with the modern look of the aluminum, ect. I do envy you for stepping up and making this happen. I want to customize a car too, I just don't have the resources to do so.

I don't like the wood pieces either. I vote for the aluminum jager pieces. The nuts on the door panels do seem to stand out to much.
Considering all that you've done to the car, I think repainting the dash, pod, and door handles would look cool maybe go put a different texture on it. Paint to match the suede color or maybe a darker grey. Just seems like their old pieces in contrast to the newer look.

Suede looks good. The more I look at your work, the more I wonder why the aluminum panel is in the door. It looks weird, and not just the screw heads. I think that should go. Other people said the wood should go. I agree that the wood looks out of place with the current arrangement. But I would consider removing the aluminum instead and doing that whole panel insert in wood.
