Cool Chrome Paint 928...

I don't remember this being posted before...

It actually looks kind of cool!
Especially from the back.

Interesting, but a swirl-mark nightmare in the making

Love it!
Chrome wheels would be nice too, and some window tint either chrome or black.

I've always wanted to chrome an entire car. I think a black chrome finish would look better on a 928. It's too bad that stuff is insanely expensive... $350/qt. How much paint does it take to do a whole 928?

Gee is that even legal? Imagine getting blinded by that thing going by with the sun reflecting off it! You could get one hell of a tan just standing next to it! No stealth there at all!

As far as I know, it would not be street legal.

I seem to remember that the current Shelby show car, which is polished aluminum, is not street legal because of the finish.

How in blazes do you get chrome paint???? Is it sprayed on with an electrical charge? I know in my construction days, they would ground the item they were painting and put a low volt charge through the paint and the paint would get sucked to what ever it was they were painting (airless sprayer)....never seen them do it in chrome though. You would have to be a phenomenal painter to get it "flat"! Do you clear coat it??? It is news to me if there is actually a liquid chrome paint with results like that.

yeah pretty much! Although today I stepped outside and the sun was shining on all that white snow, and I felt like Gizmo, "bright light".

I just think it's cool they decided on the 928 as a test platform for showing off their technology.

Here is a link:

It's not real chrome. It's a paint.

Usually a gallon of paint is enough for a 2 layer paint job. Perhaps spraying a few layers of clear coat on top would be a cheap insurance.
